What is a Datajam?

Vancouver Datajam is a virtual weekend hackathon event where participants develop their coding skills and meet other members of the community in the area of data science. Participating groups include RLadies, PyLadies, SFU Scientific Programming, Data for Good and Women in Data Science.

Workshops: September 1 - 22

Vancouver DataJam kicks off with a set of workshops in data science technologies and tools hosted in early September. Learn from industry experts and get hands-on experience in a welcoming environment to prepare you for a career in data.

Hackathon: September 23 - 24

From the evening of September 22 to the afternoon of September 24, participants will be grouped into projects and given dedicated project collaboration sessions along with mentors and team leads. The hackathon is a beginner-friendly environment and aims to increase the visibility of femme-identified individuals, WoC and gender minorities in the fields of data science and technology.

Networking event: September 24

On the evening of September 24, join the participants, mentors, and industry experts for an in-person networking event to cap off the hackathon and Datajam 2023. Refreshments provided!
